Polyacrylamide flocculant

2023-02-25

olyacrylamide flocculant is water-soluble polymer, insoluble in most organic solvents, has good flocculation, can reduce the friction resistance between liquids, according to ionic characteristics can be divided into non-ionic, anion, cation and amphoteric four types.
Polyacrylamide flocculants are widely used in thickening, stabilizing colloid, reducing drag, bonding, film forming, biomedical materials and other aspects. Water treatment as aid coagulant, flocculant, sludge dehydrating agent. In oil drilling and production as water dropping agent, oil displacement agent. In the papermaking process as retention aid, reinforcing agent.
When the polyacrylamide flocculant is dissolved, attention should be paid to adding the product evenly and slowly to the dissolver with stirring and heating measures. Solidification should be avoided, the solution is prepared at the appropriate temperature, and the mechanical shear should be avoided for a long time. It is recommended to stirrer 60-200 RPM /min, otherwise it will lead to polymer degradation and affect the use effect.
The flocculation of polyacrylamide flocculant in wastewater treatment is due to its two characteristics: long chain (line) like molecular structure and polyacrylamide molecules contain a large number of active groups. Polyacrylamide is a straight chain polymer, because each molecule is composed of more than one hundred thousand monomers polymerization, molecular chain is quite long. When fully stretched, it is tens of thousands of times longer than an ordinary molecule (like sucrose) or ion (like ca2+). Because its molecules are long and thin, they bend or curl into irregular curved shapes. This long molecular chains to outside out of many chemical reactive group: amide group conh2 and carboxyl - ˉ coo. The amide group is a non-ionic group, but it is also good at forming secondary valence bonds and active groups of other substances adsorbed and linked. Because polyacrylamide molecules are long and fine and have many chemical active groups, they can produce many connections with precipitated particles to form larger flocculants. The structure of these flocculants is like cotton wool, loose, amorphous, interconnected but not very stable, with a lot of space and a lot of fine networks inside, containing a lot of liquid. Thus the specific gravity of the flocculate is quite close to that of the liquid in which it exists. The flocs are also networked with a variety of particles, which bring together particles of different composition, properties and sizes. Therefore, good flocculant treatment can completely remove the original network of particles in the solution, so that the solution appears particularly clear and transparent and glossy. Due to the large size of the flocculant, its settlement and filtration are relatively fast. The flocculation between polyacrylamide flocculant and colloid in wastewater is produced by chemical adsorption and physical network. According to the above mechanism, polyacrylamide with higher molecular weight and longer molecules can adsorb more particles and have a strong ability to form networks, so the flocculation efficiency is better. Similarly, the appropriate proportion of carboxyl groups in polyacrylamide molecules is also important, because most of the colloids in the wastewater are negatively charged, polyacrylamide needs to have an appropriate amount of carboxyl groups through the calcium ion bridging with it. However, if the content of carboxyl group is too much, the negative charge of the polyacrylamide molecule itself is too strong, and the repulsive force between the molecules itself is too large, which is not conducive to flocculation. The types of polyacrylamide (PAM) are divided into anionic, cationic, non-ionic, amphoteric ion type, in wastewater treatment, polyacrylamide flocculant used to improve the water treatment process sedimentation, clarification, filtration, centrifugal process efficiency.
New PAM process:
Polyacrylamide is hydrolyzed by photopoly adiabatic polymerization, which has unique innovation. Good water solubility, good flocculation effect, complete specifications, annual output of polyacrylamide more than 1,000 tons, to meet the needs of customers. Polyacrylamide referred to as PAM, is divided into: anionic polyacrylamide, cationic polyacrylamide, amphozionic polyacrylamide, mainly used in the city, industrial sewage treatment, oil field, paper industry, metal mining, coal washing, textile printing and dyeing, tannery and other industries, water purification products, add less, significant effect, reasonable price, quickly achieve the effect of sewage treatment.
